For this week’s blog post, I’m sharing a short video I created about immersive learning experiences. The focus of the video is how immersive tools—like virtual environments or interactive digital spaces—can be used in realistic ways in educational settings, including art classrooms.
Here's a lil presentation on the topic:
In the video, I highlight how immersive learning can support student engagement by letting learners explore content instead of just listening or reading about it. For art education in particular, immersive experiences can give students opportunities to observe, analyze, and interact with visual content in ways that feel more active and meaningful. Research shows that immersive learning can increase motivation and improve understanding when it is thoughtfully designed and aligned with learning goals (Radianti et al., 2020).
I also used an immersive learning best practices checklist to guide the design of the video. This checklist helped keep the experience simple, accessible, and focused on learning rather than flashy technology. Overall, this project reinforced that immersive learning doesn’t have to be complicated to be effective—it just needs to be intentional.
Best Practices Checklist: (in the form of a paper that no human would ever want to read)
